As of January 24, 2025, there have been no recent reports of a four-star wide receiver decommitting from the South Carolina Gamecocks in favor of the Florida Gators. In fact, the Gamecocks have recently bolstered their roster with significant commitments.
On January 2, 2025, four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph announced his commitment to South Carolina during the Under Armour Game. Murph had privately signed with the Gamecocks during the Early Signing Period in December. He cited daily communication and the program’s recent success as key factors in his decision. Murph is also the cousin of former South Carolina first-round pick Alshon Jeffery.
Additionally, in October 2024, the Gamecocks secured a commitment from four-star wide receiver Jordon Gidron, further strengthening their 2025 class.
While there have been instances of players flipping commitments between these programs in the past, such as linebacker Jaden Robinson switching from South Carolina to Florida in August 2022, no recent events of this nature involving a four-star wide receiver have been reported.
It’s worth noting that recruiting dynamics can change rapidly, and commitments may shift as players reassess their options. However, as of now, the South Carolina Gamecocks have successfully retained their recent wide receiver commit
