Good News: Nottingham Forest receive BOOST to January transfer window after 27 Goals striker reveal interest of playing at City Ground

Nuno Espirito Santo has little to fear at Nottingham Forest at the moment, despite a disappointing last result against Newcastle.

He won’t be dealing with a goalkeeper in January, although Forest are even said to be looking to upgrade Matz Sels in the summer.

Another position that could be strengthened is striker. Chris Wood has been carrying the load on his own this season and Taiwo Awoniyi has had problems, so injury could cause problems.

Interestingly, a striker who dreams of playing in the Premier League has come forward before the January transfer deadline and Nottingham Forest are also interested in him.

Yuri Alberto admits he wants to play in the Premier League
Nottingham Forest are chasing Yuri Alberto ahead of the January transfer deadline.

The Brazilian striker currently plays for Murillo’s former club Corinthians and has scored 27 goals in 54 games in all competitions this season.

Interestingly, he may have just opened the door for Nottingham Forest to transfer him in January as he revealed his dream of playing in the Premier League.

“I dream a lot about playing in Europe. I stayed with Zenit and eventually came back because I couldn’t play in European tournaments because of the war. I am very happy at Corinthians, but if an opportunity comes up that will benefit both Corinthians and me, I am open to [leaving].

“My priority is England. I really like it there.”

Nottingham Forest can’t rely on Chris Wood alone
Chris Wood is 32 years old and has had his fair share of injury problems in the past.

Yuri Alberto, for whom they are asking £25 million, is a much more youthful option for Forest at 23. He has shown that he can also contribute on a consistent basis, averaging a goal every two games.

The fact that Murillo has done so well since leaving Corinthians should give Forest the extra confidence to make Alberto’s transfer pay off, and it should also open the player’s eyes.

After all, Murillo might be able to say a word to his former club.
