While the End of a Career Signals Close.

Controversially, Thomas Tuchel left Gibbs-White out of his first England squad, which angered Forest supporters.

He was then called up after injuries, but the damage had been done by then; it was clear Tuchel had set a precedent that players must be playing for the biggest clubs to be included in his plans.

With that said, many now believe Gibbs-White will leave the City Ground due to that exact reason – to get into the squad ahead of the World Cup next year.

“If MGW goes to Man City, Tuchel carries a lot of the blame. Telling players they need to move clubs for a call up is disgusting,” @AndrewG09485220 said.

@CarnorJax87 added: “His comments about players needing to move clubs was bang out of line and a host of clubs should have demanded an apology from him and FA.”

@happydaysmids commented: “Head been turned. Started with England manager Tuchel having a word. Big 6 bias.”

“Hoping Tuchel gets booed at the City Ground, especially if he overlooks MGW again,” @Honest_Mo83 posted.

@jaystorerrr said: “Surely once City were linked we knew the score. World Cup next summer, Tuchel picking players based on who they play for. Fair play to him if he goes, just hope we replace him well.”

“He’s not going to say no even if we get UCL. Tuchel won’t pick him unless he goes and his best friend is Foden,” @Owvnn explained.
