Manchester United Reject Late Joshua Zirkzee Approach as Striker Stays at Old Trafford

Manchester United have rejected a late attempt from Everton to sign Joshua Zirkzee on loan, leaving the Dutch striker at Old Trafford for the new season.

Everton reportedly made an approach for Zirkzee during the final stages of the transfer window. However, United decided against allowing the forward to leave because there was not enough time to secure a replacement.

The decision could now give Zirkzee an unexpected opportunity under Michael Carrick.

The 25-year-old had been linked with a move away from Manchester throughout the summer, but the situation changed dramatically when Everton made their late approach.

With the transfer window now closed, Zirkzee remains part of United’s attacking options alongside Benjamin Sesko and the club’s other forwards.

His continued presence could become increasingly important if injuries or fixture congestion affect the squad.

For Zirkzee, the situation presents a clear challenge. He must now convince Carrick that he deserves regular opportunities rather than allowing the disappointment of a potential transfer to affect his performances.

United’s decision to keep him could ultimately work in both directions.

If Zirkzee responds positively, the striker could turn an unwanted transfer situation into a genuine second chance at Old Trafford.
