Richarlison’s Tottenham nightmare has taken another dramatic turn after the Brazilian forward was left out of the club’s 25-man Premier League squad.

The decision comes only days after his proposed return to Everton collapsed on deadline day, leaving the striker facing an uncertain future.

Richarlison had reportedly made it clear that he wanted to leave Tottenham, and manager Roberto De Zerbi subsequently indicated that the player’s future at the club was unclear.

The 29-year-old was Tottenham’s leading scorer last season, making his exclusion even more significant. He scored 12 goals across all competitions and played an important role as Spurs fought to avoid relegation.

However, his position has changed dramatically under De Zerbi. Richarlison started Tottenham’s opening league match against Brentford but was left out of the squad for the following game against Newcastle United.

Tottenham’s decision now appears to indicate that the club are prepared to move forward without him.

A transfer to Turkey could still provide an escape route because the Turkish window remains open. Trabzonspor have reportedly shown interest and previously had bids rejected.

For Richarlison, the situation represents a stunning fall from being Tottenham’s leading scorer to being completely excluded from the Premier League squad.

The next few days could determine whether his Spurs career is effectively over.
