Manchester City duo Marc Guéhi and Nico O’Reilly have received another major international boost after being included in Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad.
The pair were named among the defenders selected for England’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures, alongside Manchester City teammate Elliot Anderson.
Guéhi has continued to establish himself as an important defensive option, while O’Reilly’s rapid rise has attracted increasing attention after his versatility and performances for City.
O’Reilly’s inclusion is particularly significant. The young City player has been trusted in different positions and has increasingly become part of the club’s senior plans.
Tuchel’s selection also contains several interesting talking points. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer return to the squad after missing the World Cup, while Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha has also been included.
However, there is no place for Manchester City star Phil Foden.
For Guéhi and O’Reilly, the international recognition provides another opportunity to strengthen their positions within England’s plans.
