Camden Brown announces intentions to enter transfer portal..

 

 

 

Camden Brown, a junior wide receiver who signed with Auburn out of St. Thomas Aquinas high school, announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday evening.

“First and foremost, I want to thank Auburn University for giving me the opportunity to live out m dream of playing college football at the highest level,” Brown posted on social media. “I am extremely thankful for the leadership abilities and expertise I have acquired while studying at Auburn University. I want to give a big thanks to my family for the love and encouragement.

“After reflecting on my decision and consulting with my loved ones, I want to express gratitude to the coaching staff, administration and fans. To the guys (past and present), I couldn’t have asked for a better group over these last three years. I’m blessed to know that I have made friendships and connections that will last a lifetime and for that I’m grateful. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal.”

 

The 6-foot-3 Brown was formerly ranked as a three-star recruit in the class of 2022, according to 247 Sports. He signed with Auburn after initially committing to the Pittsburgh Panthers.

 

 

In his freshman season with the Tigers, Brown caught nine passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns and followed up with 105 yards on 10 catches in his sophomore season. Brown found himself behind KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Cam Coleman and Malcom Simmons for much of his junior year and only caught seven passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.

Brown marks the Tigers’ seventh departure, with walk-on tight end Grant Hidalgo and walk-on punter Gabe Russo announcing their intentions earlier on Tuesday.

The transfer portal opens on December 9.
