he Baltimore Orioles have made several notable signings recently:

•Tyler O’Neill: The Orioles finalized a three-year, $49.5 million contract with outfielder Tyler O’Neill, which includes a player opt-out after the 2025 season. O’Neill, 29, had a strong 2024 season with the Boston Red Sox, hitting .241 with 31 home runs and 61 RBIs.  

 

 

 

•Gary Sánchez: Catcher Gary Sánchez joined the Orioles on a one-year, $8.5 million deal.

 

 

The 32-year-old is expected to serve as a backup to All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman. In 2024, Sánchez played 89 games for the Milwaukee Brewers, posting a .220 batting average with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs.  

 

 

 

•Tomoyuki Sugano: The Orioles signed 35-year-old Japanese pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano to a one-year, $13 million contract.

 

 

Sugano spent his 12-year career with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan, achieving a career record of 136-74 with a 2.43 ERA. In 2024, he recorded a 1.67 ERA, striking out 111 batters and walking only 16 in 156 2/3 innings.  

 

 

 

•Charlie Morton: Veteran pitcher Charlie Morton signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Orioles. The 41-year-old brings experience to the pitching staff, having previously played for teams like the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves.
