When the play call came in, Montrell Johnson couldn’t believe it.
Coach Billy Napier called on the senior running back to receive the direct snap inside the Ole Miss 10. The play was practiced all week for Jaden Baugh, a freshman who received most carries recently and who many thought should replace Johnson.
“I got there, I’m just thinking, touchdown. I got to score. I got to get in the end zone for Senior Night,” Johnson said.
Johnson did just that to give Florida a lead it never relinquished.

“That goes back to all the work we put in through fall camp and the spring. He sees all the work I put in and he trust that I can go out there and get the job done,” Johnson said.
In August, Johnson suffered a knee injury and was limited for the preseason.
