Cam Ward and Xavier Restrepo named AFCA first-team All-Americans.

 

The good news – at least for individual accolades – didn’t stop on Friday after a banner day for Cam Ward the day before.

 

Ward and Xavier Restrepo were both named AFCA first-team All-Americans.

 

As the Miami Hurricanes’ football account indicates in the above video, that means the dynamic duo from 2024 are going to have their names enshrined inside the Canes’ facility among the greatest players to ever play for the program.

 

 

Ward’s week continues to shine after being named the Davey O’Brien Award recipient for 2024 as the nation’s top quarterback. He was also named as a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as well. Oh yeah, he’s in New York with his family for the Heisman Trophy ceremony as we speak. Not too shabby of a week. Ward completed 293 of 435 attempts for 4123 yards with 36 touchdown and 7 interceptions in the regular season.

Restrepo earned his place as well with a record-breaking season for the Canes. Restrepo passed Mike Harley for all-time catches and Santana Moss for all-time receiving yards for Miami. He finished the regular season with 69 catches for 1127 yards and 11 touchdowns.

A terrific honor for both players. It will be can’t miss TV to see them play one more time in a Canes uniform when Miami and Iowa State face off in the Pop Tarts Bowl on December 28.
