Guitarist Don Felder, 77, was ousted from the Eagles in 2001, but he hasn’t forgotten about at least one of his former band mates.

His recently released fourth solo album, The Vault—Fifty Years of Music, consists of newly recorded versions of songs he first recorded as demos over the last five decades, including “Blue Skies,” a tribute to his former Eagles band mate Glenn Frey, who died in 2016 at the age of 67.Frey died from complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia. The Eagles carried on following his death by recruiting Frey’s son, Deacon and Vince Gill to fill the void.

Felder, who was the lead guitarist in the Eagles from 1974 through 2001, went on to sue the band for wrongful termination and breach of contract. He wrote about his time with the band in the 2008 book Heaven and Hell: My Life With the Eagles (1974-2001). He was replaced by touring guitarist
