Kim Caldwell Honored with Inaugural “Trailblazer Award” by Lady Vols Legends

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In a moment filled with emotion, history, and deep appreciation, Tennessee Lady Volunteers head coach Kim Caldwell was presented with the inaugural “Trailblazer Award”—a prestigious honor recognizing her impact on women’s basketball and her leadership in the Lady Vols program.

The award was bestowed by three of the most iconic figures in Lady Vols history: Candace Parker, Chamique Holdsclaw, and Tamika Catchings. These legendary players, who have each left their mark on the game, came together to honor Caldwell’s dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the program’s success.

Since taking the helm, Caldwell has been instrumental in guiding the Lady Vols forward while upholding the rich legacy built by the legendary Pat Summitt. Under her leadership, Tennessee has continued to be a powerhouse in women’s college basketball, inspiring both current players and future generations.

“This award isn’t just about me,” Caldwell said during her acceptance speech. “It’s about every player, coach, and fan who believes in the Lady Vols legacy. To receive this from three of the greatest to ever wear the orange is truly humbling.”
