Mark pope added new 5-star guard for 2025 recruiting class land with full commitment…
As of January 19, 2025, Kentucky Wildcats head coach Mark Pope has secured commitments from three notable recruits for the 2025 basketball class:
•Jasper Johnson: A five-star guard from Kentucky, Johnson is completing his prep career at the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta. He previously played at Woodford County High School in Versailles.
•Malachi Moreno: A five-star center from Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, Kentucky, Moreno is a standout big man and an early favorite for the 2025 Kentucky Mr. Basketball title.
•Acaden Lewis: A four-star point guard from Washington, D.C., Lewis chose Kentucky over Duke and UConn. Known for his elite ball distribution, he averaged 16.7 points and 6.1 assists per game on the Nike grassroots circuit.
Additionally, top-10 prospect Caleb Wilson has narrowed his college choices to Kentucky, Ohio State, and North Carolina, with a decision expected on January 23, 2025. Kentucky is considered a strong contender, especially given Wilson’s close friendship with current commit Acaden Lewis.
These developments highlight Coach Pope’s effective recruiting efforts, positioning the Wildcats for a promising future.
