Tennessee Football Flips 3-Star 2025 USC RB Commit Daune Morris
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class received a big jolt on Monday night as On3’s Hayes Fawcett posted on X that the longtime USC running back commit Daune Morris had flipped from the Trojans to the Volunteers.

The Murfreesboro native is the second tailback to commit to head football coach Josh Heupel in the ’25 class. Morris joins longtime commit Justin Baker out of Georgia high school powerhouse Buford as the two running backs for the Vols in the ’25 class.
It’s a big addition for the Vols in the ’25 class as junior star tailback Dylan Sampson could be off to the NFL after the conclusion of the 2024 college football season. In the last month, Tennessee has utilized a true freshman running back in former four-star Peyton Lewis as the No. 2 back behind Sampson.
With the addition of Morris, the Vols currently have the No. 9 overall recruiting class in 2025.
The class is highlighted by five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr., four-star wide receiver Travis Smith Jr., four-star LEO Marion Dye, four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame, four-star quarterback George MacIntyre and four-star safety Lagonza “Shaedy” Howard, among several other blue-chip recruits.
With Early Signing Day just a couple of weeks away, it’s going to be interesting to see how Heupel and his staff close out this loaded class.
