Will Levis Donates $1.5 Million to Kentucky Football, Pledges Loyalty to Big Blue Nation and Coach Mark Stoops

Lexington, KY — May 1, 2025 — Former Kentucky Wildcats quarterback and current NFL standout Will Levis has made headlines off the field this week, announcing a $1.5 million donation to the University of Kentucky football program. The generous gift is one of the largest ever made by a former Wildcat athlete and reflects Levis’ deep gratitude for the program, its fans, and especially his former head coach, Mark Stoops.

In a heartfelt statement released by the university, Levis said, “Kentucky gave me the opportunity to grow — as a player and a man. I’ll never forget the love from the fans, the lessons from Coach Stoops, and the brotherhood we built in that locker room. This is my way of giving back to the place that believed in me.”

A Legacy of Leadership

Levis, who played for Kentucky from 2021 to 2022 after transferring from Penn State, quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his toughness, leadership, and cannon-like arm. He led the Wildcats to consecutive winning seasons, including a memorable Citrus Bowl victory, and helped elevate Kentucky’s national profile as a legitimate SEC contender.

His impact extended beyond the stat sheet — Levis was known for his work ethic, community involvement, and unwavering commitment to his teammates. That same leadership is now fueling his philanthropy.

Special Recognition for Coach Stoops

In his announcement, Levis made a special mention of Mark Stoops, crediting the longtime head coach for believing in him when others didn’t.

“Coach Stoops changed the course of my career,” Levis said. “He gave me the chance to lead this program and helped me become the player I am today. This gift is a tribute to his vision and the culture he’s built at Kentucky.”

Boosting the Future of UK Football

According to the university, the $1.5 million donation will go toward program enhancements, including state-of-the-art training equipment, nutrition resources, and player development initiatives. It will also support NIL education programs, ensuring that current and future Wildcats are prepared for success on and off the field.

Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart praised the move, saying, “Will is the epitome of what we want our athletes to become — driven, grateful, and giving. His gift will leave a lasting legacy at Kentucky.”

Still Bleeding Blue

Now a rising star in the NFL, Levis hasn’t forgotten his roots. He continues to rep Big Blue Nation proudly and remains a vocal supporter of the program on social media. With this donation, he cements his legacy not just as a former player, but as a lifelong Wildcat.

As the Kentucky football program looks ahead to another season of promise, the spirit of loyalty and gratitude shown by Will Levis serves as a powerful reminder: once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.
