Brisbane Coach Michael Maguire Defends Payne Haas Amid Manly Interest

**Brisbane Coach Michael Maguire Defends Payne Haas Amid Manly Interest**

In a strong statement addressing recent transfer speculation, Brisbane Broncos head coach Michael Maguire has firmly dismissed discussions about prop Payne Haas’s potential exit. The comments come on the heels of Manly Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov revealing the club’s interest in the forward, stirring debate about Haas’s future in the NRL.

Maguire, known for his candid approach, emphasized that Haas is a critical part of the Broncos’ plans moving forward. “Payne is in good shape and contributing strongly on the field,” Maguire stated. “Our focus is on building a robust team around our key players, and he is a major part of that blueprint.”

The remarks come at a time when transfer rumors have been rife, following Mestrov’s comments about Manly’s interest in bolstering their front row. Despite the speculation, Maguire made it clear that the Broncos remain committed to retaining Haas and maintaining the stability of their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Haas has enjoyed a productive season with the Broncos, and his performances have earned praise from teammates and coaching staff alike. While interest from rival clubs is not uncommon in professional rugby league, Maguire’s response underscored the club’s confidence in the continuity and strength of its current roster.

With the off-season transfer window looming, the Broncos are focused on reinforcing their squad and ensuring that their established core remains intact. Both the coaching staff and the players appear determined to build on their recent successes, with Haas playing a pivotal role in the team’s ambitions for the future.

As discussions continue around player movement in the NRL, Maguire’s stance sends a clear message: the Broncos are united in their vision, and Payne Haas is very much part of that future.
