The recent lost of Tottenham gave an important boost to Ipswich town in the premier League race, but the looming fixture against Manchester United presents a different challenge entirely. However, looking up to the conclusion of the international break Kieran McKenna has offered some positive news ahead of the game, revealing that three injured players are expected to return.

The victory against Tottenham marked Ipswich’s first league success of the season, defying expectations and sparking hope for their survival bid. However, the squad has been affected by injuries to key players, like Axel Tuanzebe and Jacob Greaves in the defense, as well as midfielder Jack Taylor. Both Tuanzebe, who’s recovering from hand surgery, and Greaves, sidelined by a hamstring issue, missed the Tottenham clash, alongside Taylor, who also was down with a hamstring injury. Fortunately, McKenna breaks the good news that all three are making good progress to be back on track.

The international break provides a timely window for these players to continue their recoveries, with manager McKenna hopeful they’ll be ready to rejoin the squad soon. Ipswich on the other hand has this list of players currently injured and their potential return dates.

Chiedozie Ogbene
Achilles tear kept the Irish winger down and subsequent surgery, is inching closer to a return. Reflecting on Ogbene’s recovery, McKenna report that, “Chiedozie had surgery yesterday. It was an Achilles tear. It’s not certain that he’ll play much, if any, football this season. We’ll be looking at preparing for next season.”

Nathan Broadhead
The attacker, who’s been sorely missed in squad, is also nearing a comeback and hungry for the game. McKenna gave a hint on his possible return after the international break, saying, “He will stay back with Town during the international break as he deals with a minor groin issue.”

Wesley Burns
Burns, who’s been out with a knock, could potentially feature after the break, with an already return date set.

Jacob Greaves
Discussing Greaves’ situation, McKenna explained, “Jacob will be out for a few weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury from the clash with West Ham.” This leaves the defence short but with hope that his return may be sooner than feared.

Jack Taylor
Another Irish international, Taylor’s recovery is in good progress and expected to be available in the coming weeks.

Janoi Donacien
The defender has been dealing with a minor ankle issue, but McKenna is confident about his return. “He’s just returned from international duty and has a minor ankle injury. He’s still with us, receiving necessary treatment,” he said. Praising Donacien, McKenna added, “He’s a top player like I’ve always stated and also an outstanding person, I think there’s a big demand for his relentless services.”
