AMAD TRAINS

Amad Diallo has reportedly returned to first-team training at Manchester United, giving Michael Carrick a major attacking boost.

The winger has been working his way back from injury and has not featured for United during the early part of the campaign.

Reports from Carrington now suggest that Amad has resumed training with the senior squad.

That is significant news for United.

The 24-year-old provides pace, creativity and another option in the final third. His ability to play from wide areas can also give Carrick more tactical flexibility.

United have struggled with several fitness problems during the international break. Patrick Dorgu has returned from Denmark with an injury, while Noussair Mazraoui was forced off during Morocco duty.

Therefore, Amad’s return could not come at a better time.

However, supporters should not assume that first-team training automatically means he is ready to start the next match.

United’s medical staff will still need to assess his condition. Carrick will also have to decide when Amad is ready for competitive action.

Still, seeing him back around the first-team group is encouraging.

If his recovery continues without complications, United could soon welcome back a player capable of changing games from the bench or starting role.

For Carrick, that is exactly the kind of attacking boost he needs.
