Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez is reportedly on the verge of becoming a Chelsea player after arriving in London to complete his proposed move from Aston Villa. The Argentina international goalkeeper is said to be closing in on a transfer to Stamford Bridge in a deal that could strengthen Chelsea’s options between the posts.
According to the reported details, Chelsea and Aston Villa have reached an agreement over a £7.5 million transfer fee for the experienced goalkeeper. The two clubs are reportedly exchanging the necessary documents after reaching an agreement late last night.
Martínez is understood to have already agreed personal terms with Chelsea, with the remaining steps involving his medical examination and the signing of his contract.
The proposed agreement would see the Argentine goalkeeper sign a two-year contract running until 2028, while Chelsea would also have an option to extend the deal until June 2029.
