LIVERPOOL AND MAN CITY STARS NOMINATED FOR PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Liverpool and Manchester City have both received recognition in the latest Premier League Player of the Month nominations.
Alexander Isak and defender Jérémy Jacquet represent Liverpool, while Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo also made the eight-player shortlist for September.
Isak has scored three Premier League goals across September, including a double against Ipswich Town and the winning goal against Bournemouth.
Jacquet, meanwhile, has played every minute of Liverpool’s Premier League matches during the month.
His performances have helped the Reds record three consecutive league games without conceding.
Manchester City’s Semenyo has also been central to his side’s perfect September.
The Ghanaian has scored twice and supplied two assists as City won all three of their league matches.
He also played every minute during the month.
The shortlist includes eight players in total, with Mohamed Belloumi, Jayden Bogle, Pascal Groß, Charalampos Kostoulas and Kevin Schade completing the nominations.
Fans can vote before the deadline on September 28, with the final result determined through a combination of public voting and a panel of football experts.
The nominations underline the strong starts made by Liverpool and City during September.
With two Reds and one City player involved, the award also adds another individual subplot to an increasingly competitive Premier League season.
