Jorge Jesus Names Two Stars
Portugal coach Jorge Jesus has put Victor Osimhen and Erling Haaland in the same conversation when discussing the strongest strikers inside the penalty area.
Jesus was speaking after Portugal’s Nations League clash with Norway, where Haaland was the main attacking threat for the hosts.
The Portuguese coach praised Haaland’s physical and technical qualities but also highlighted Osimhen when discussing penalty-box power.
Jesus said he considers Osimhen and Haaland among the strongest forwards inside the box.
The comparison immediately created discussion because both strikers have different styles.
Haaland is known for his physical strength, movement and finishing.
Osimhen brings explosive pace, aerial ability and aggressive movement around defenders.
For Nigerian supporters, Jesus’ comments will naturally attract attention.
Osimhen is currently recovering from injury and was replaced in Nigeria’s squad for the opening AFCON 2027 qualifiers.
Nigeria are now preparing for their next match against Guinea-Bissau.
The comparison does not mean the two players are identical.
