Michael Olise’s future is once again attracting major attention across European football, with reports claiming that the Bayern Munich winger has no immediate plans to return to the Premier League despite interest from some of England’s biggest clubs.

The France international, who joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in 2024, has established himself as one of the Bundesliga club’s most important attacking players. His performances for both club and country have also placed him firmly on the radar of several elite European sides.

However, the latest reports suggest that Olise is currently settled in Munich and is not looking to force a move back to England.

Olise Not Pushing for Premier League Return

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been mentioned in reports concerning potential interest in Olise. His previous experience in English football, combined with his development at Bayern, makes him a player who could attract significant attention if he ever became available.

For now, however, there is no indication that Olise is actively seeking a return to the Premier League.

Reports from earlier in the summer also indicated that Bayern were determined to keep the 24-year-old. Bayern president Herbert Hainer publicly ruled out a summer departure, while the club’s position throughout the transfer window was that Olise remained an important part of their plans.

That stance was reinforced by Bayern’s decision not to entertain a move during the summer transfer window.

Spain Could Be the Next Destination

While a return to England does not appear to be Olise’s priority, Spain has emerged as a potential destination for the future.

Real Madrid have repeatedly been linked with the French winger, and reports have suggested that the Spanish giants regard him as a possible long-term target. Barcelona have also been mentioned in connection with the player.

There is, however, an important distinction between reported interest and confirmed negotiations.

In June 2026, Real Madrid issued an official statement specifically denying reports that the club had made contact with Olise, his representatives or people close to him. The club also emphasised its relationship with Bayern Munich and stated that any potential interest in a Bayern player would first be handled between the two clubs.

That does not necessarily rule out a future move. Subsequent reporting has continued to discuss Real Madrid as a potential destination for Olise once Bayern’s position changes.

Indeed, TEAMtalk reported in July that Real Madrid was regarded as Olise’s preferred destination if he eventually leaves Bayern, while stressing that there was no expectation of him forcing a transfer at that point.

Bayern Munich Have the Upper Hand

One of the biggest factors in the situation is Olise’s contract.

The winger is under contract with Bayern until 2029, giving the German champions considerable control over his future. Bayern therefore have little immediate pressure to sell, particularly given his importance to the team’s attacking structure.

His performances have strengthened that position further. Bundesliga reported that Olise recorded an extraordinary 53 goal contributions in 52 matches during the 2025/26 campaign.

Bayern’s public stance has been clear: they want to retain one of their most valuable attacking players.

At the same time, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen recently avoided making a long-term guarantee about Olise’s future beyond the current season. Dreesen said that the club would revisit the situation next summer, while also confirming that Bayern had not received the large number of formal offers that had been suggested during the summer window.

That leaves the door open to another transfer saga in the future.

Could Olise Cost More Than £120 Million?

Any future transfer would likely require a substantial financial commitment.

Figures of more than £120 million have been discussed in connection with a possible Olise transfer, although there is currently no confirmed asking price from Bayern at that level.

The scale of the potential fee is understandable given the player’s age, contract situation, production and importance to Bayern.

There have even been reports suggesting that Bayern could demand considerably more than £120 million if they were eventually persuaded to sell. GOAL reported in August that speculation had reached the level of a potential €200 million bid, although this remains part of transfer reporting rather than a confirmed offer.

What Happens Next?

For now, Michael Olise remains a Bayern Munich player and appears set to continue his career in Germany.

The immediate Premier League links involving Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City do not appear to have resulted in a transfer, while Real Madrid’s position is complicated by the club’s official denial of contact earlier in the year.

Nevertheless, the possibility of a future move to Spain remains a major storyline surrounding Olise.

With the winger contracted to Bayern until 2029, the German champions remain in a strong negotiating position. If Olise eventually decides that he wants a new challenge, clubs such as Real Madrid could potentially return to the table.

For the moment, however, the clearest picture is that Olise is staying at Bayern Munich, while speculation over his long-term future is likely to continue.
