Arsenal fans have every reason to dream big about the future. With the club continuing to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level, supporters can already imagine what a truly elite Arsenal side could look like in 2027.
One dream lineup making the rounds features Erling Haaland leading the attack, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bukayo Saka operating from the wings. Behind them would be a powerful midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard and Bruno Guimarães.
On paper, that team would have almost everything you could want from a modern attacking side: goals, pace, creativity, technical quality, physical strength and experience.
But could Arsenal actually put such a team together by 2027?
🔴⚪ A Dream Front Three
The biggest attraction of this hypothetical Arsenal lineup is undoubtedly the attack.
Erling Haaland as the No. 9
Haaland would provide Arsenal with a completely different dimension in front of goal.
The Norwegian striker has built his reputation around his physical presence, movement inside the penalty area and extraordinary goalscoring ability. Playing as the central striker in this hypothetical Arsenal team, he would give the side a traditional elite No. 9 capable of occupying centre-backs and attacking crosses and through balls.
With creative players supplying him, Haaland could potentially thrive in a system designed around sustained possession and territorial dominance.
Bukayo Saka on the right
Saka is already one of Arsenal’s most important attacking players and would remain a natural choice on the right wing.
His ability to carry the ball, create chances and contribute goals would complement a central striker such as Haaland. Saka’s understanding of Arsenal’s attacking structure would also be valuable in a team containing several new stars.
The English winger could provide the familiar connection between Arsenal’s existing identity and a potential future super-team.
Kvaratskhelia on the left
On the opposite flank, Kvaratskhelia would add another layer of unpredictability.
The Georgian winger is known for his dribbling, creativity and ability to attack defenders in one-on-one situations. Having him on the left while Saka operates on the right would give Arsenal two dangerous wide players capable of creating opportunities independently.
Opposing defenders would have a difficult choice: concentrate on Haaland centrally and leave the wingers space, or move defenders wider and potentially create room for the striker.
âš½ A Midfield Packed With Quality
The proposed midfield is arguably just as exciting as the front three.
Declan Rice, Bruno Guimarães and Martin Ødegaard would provide a combination of defensive security, ball progression and creativity.
Rice could operate as the team’s defensive foundation. His ability to cover ground, win possession and support the defence would allow the more attack-minded players to move forward.
Bruno Guimarães would add aggression, technical quality and progression from midfield. His ability to operate under pressure and contribute defensively could make him an important link between defence and attack.
Then there is Ødegaard.
The Norwegian midfielder’s vision, passing and ability to find pockets of space would give the team another creative outlet. He could combine with Saka on the right while also looking for Haaland’s movement in the penalty area.
🔥 How Would This Arsenal XI Play?
A team containing these players could potentially adopt a possession-heavy attacking approach.
Rice could provide defensive protection while the full-backs push forward. Ødegaard could move into advanced areas to create overloads, while Bruno could help Arsenal control the midfield.
Saka and Kvaratskhelia would stretch the opposition horizontally, creating space for Haaland to operate centrally.
Imagine Arsenal controlling possession around the edge of the opposition box, with Ødegaard looking for a through ball, Saka attacking from the right, Kvaratskhelia isolating a defender on the left and Haaland waiting inside the penalty area.
That is the kind of attacking scenario that makes this hypothetical lineup so exciting.
👀 But Could It Actually Happen?
This is where the dream becomes considerably more complicated.
Signing players of this calibre would involve enormous transfer fees, wages and competition from other major European clubs. There would also be questions surrounding existing contracts, player ambitions and whether each footballer would fit Arsenal’s tactical plans at that particular moment.
There is also no guarantee that Arsenal would even need to make such a dramatic overhaul by 2027. Young players could emerge, existing stars could develop further, and the club’s recruitment strategy could take a completely different direction.
Football changes quickly.
A player who appears essential today may not be the priority two years later, while an unexpected youngster could become one of the most important members of the squad.
🔴⚪ Arsenal Fans Can Dream
For now, this should be viewed as a dream Arsenal XI rather than a prediction of the club’s actual 2027 squad.
Nevertheless, it is an intriguing tactical exercise.
Kvaratskhelia — Haaland — Saka
Rice — Bruno Guimarães — Ødegaard
That six-man attacking and midfield unit would combine power, pace, creativity, technical ability and goals.
The biggest question is not whether the lineup looks exciting—it certainly does. The question is whether Arsenal could realistically assemble and balance such a collection of elite talent while maintaining the squad structure required to compete across multiple competitions.
One thing is certain: if Arsenal supporters were given the opportunity to watch this XI take the field at the Emirates, the anticipation would be enormous. 🔥
Arsenal fans, what do you think? Would you want to see Haaland leading the line with Saka and Kvaratskhelia on the wings? And would Rice, Ødegaard and Bruno Guimarães be your midfield three?
