Everton are at the centre of one of the busiest transfer deadline days in the Premier League as the club prepare for major changes to their squad.

The Toffees are reportedly close to bringing in Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City while also working towards a deal for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun. At the same time, Iliman Ndiaye is heading in the opposite direction after Manchester City moved to sign the forward.

The potential arrival of Grealish would be one of the most eye-catching moves of the day. The England international has enormous Premier League experience and could provide Everton with creativity, ball-carrying ability and attacking quality.

Balogun would offer something different. His pace and movement could give Everton a new option in the final third following changes to their attacking department.

However, losing Ndiaye will still hurt. The forward had become an important part of Everton’s plans, meaning the club will need their new arrivals to adapt quickly.

The situation has divided opinion among supporters. Some may view the deals as evidence of ambitious recruitment, while others could question whether selling an important attacker and replacing him on deadline day carries unnecessary risk.

Everton’s final business could therefore shape the direction of their entire season.
