Manchester United Already Hunting “Next JJ Gabriel” After Shock Exit Request
Manchester United have reportedly begun scouting another teenage sensation as the club prepares for the possibility of losing JJ Gabriel.
The player attracting United’s attention is 15-year-old Gabriel Rajkovic of Vålerenga.
Rajkovic has rapidly become one of the most talked-about young players in Norwegian football after breaking records previously associated with established stars.
He became the youngest-ever Eliteserien debutant earlier this year, surpassing the record previously held by Martin Ødegaard.
He later became the league’s second-youngest goalscorer, with his early senior performances attracting interest from major European clubs.
Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch the youngster in Norway.
The timing is particularly interesting.
United are currently dealing with uncertainty surrounding their own teenage prospect JJ Gabriel, who has requested to leave the club.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have held discussions around JJ, while other European giants are also interested.
United therefore appear to be preparing for more than one possibility.
Rajkovic, however, cannot immediately move to England because of international transfer regulations affecting under-18 players.
He is contracted to Vålerenga until 2028.
That means United’s interest could be part of a longer-term recruitment strategy rather than an immediate replacement.
Still, the story is remarkable.
