Šeško Misses Slovenia Duty
Benjamin Šeško has withdrawn from the Slovenia squad after suffering another setback with his shin problem.
Manchester United confirmed that the striker will remain at the club during the international break while he undergoes further assessment.
Šeško was originally selected for Slovenia’s Nations League matches against Scotland and North Macedonia, as well as the later fixtures against Switzerland and Scotland.
However, he will now miss the entire international period.
The 23-year-old was also absent from Manchester United’s recent Premier League match against Fulham.
United said Šeško will undergo tests before his individual recovery programme is finalised.
The latest setback comes after the striker had only recently returned from a lengthy spell out with a shin problem.
Šeško had started to build momentum again this season.
He scored against Everton before finding the net again in United’s Champions League victory over Sabah.
Those goals had provided an important boost after his difficult injury period.
Now the striker faces another period of rehabilitation.
Manchester United will have almost three weeks before their next Premier League match against Tottenham on October 10.
That gives Šeško time to recover, but his return date remains uncertain.
For United, keeping their main striker fit will be important when domestic football resumes.
Šeško has already shown that he can provide goals when available.
The club will now wait for the medical assessment before deciding his next recovery steps.
