United Injury Blow

Manchester United have been hit by fresh injury concerns during the international break, with captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Patrick Dorgu both facing fitness issues.

Fernandes was left out of Portugal’s Nations League meeting with Norway after reportedly carrying a problem from Manchester United. Portugal coach Jorge Jesus had already raised concerns about the midfielder’s condition before the match.

The situation will worry United supporters because Fernandes remains one of the club’s key creative players. UEFA’s 2026 figures show his importance for Portugal too, with three goals and one assist in five European-qualifying appearances.

Dorgu has also joined the injury list. The Manchester United defender was forced off during Denmark’s 2-0 win over Wales after appearing to pick up a problem.

The timing is frustrating for Michael Carrick, especially with United preparing for their return to Premier League action.

The club will now wait for further medical assessments before knowing how long either player could be unavailable.

For United, the biggest concern is simple: losing Fernandes and Dorgu at the same time could create another selection headache.

The international break was supposed to help clubs recover.

Instead, United could return with more questions than answers.
