Everton have stepped up their pursuit of Folarin Balogun as the summer transfer window enters its final hours, with the Toffees making a formal approach to Monaco for the United States striker.

Reports indicate that Everton have submitted an offer for the 25-year-old forward, with negotiations now underway. Balogun has emerged as a priority target for David Moyes as Everton look to strengthen their attack before the transfer deadline.

The potential move has gained extra importance because Beto is expected to leave Everton for Fiorentina. That would leave Moyes needing another attacking option, and Balogun’s profile makes him an attractive candidate.

Balogun joined Monaco from Arsenal in 2023 after an outstanding loan spell at Reims, where he scored 22 Ligue 1 goals during the 2022/23 campaign. He has since established himself as an important attacking player in France.

However, Everton still have work to do. Monaco have set their own valuation for the striker, meaning negotiations could become complicated as the deadline approaches.

With the transfer window closing at 11pm UK time on September 1, Everton cannot afford to waste time.

The big question now is simple: Will Balogun become Everton’s new attacking weapon, or will Monaco shut the door before the deadline?
