IBROX UPGRADES CONTINUE
Rangers are using the international break to give Ibrox another push, with improvement work continuing across the famous Glasgow stadium.
The latest work includes cleaning commemorative bricks, tidying and repointing the east and west gates, resurfacing areas and replacing sections of seating. Work is also taking place around the stands, including repairs and replacement of roof materials.
The Copland Stand has been part of the current programme, with new cladding being installed. Roof repairs on the Bill Struth Main Stand are also underway, while further work is being assessed for other parts of the ground.
That matters because Ibrox is more than a football stadium for Rangers supporters. It is part of the club’s identity, and every change attracts attention.
The timing is also interesting. Rangers have enjoyed a strong spell on the pitch, with the club riding a six-game winning run under Derek McInnes. The next home league match is scheduled for October 10 against Kilmarnock.
So while players are away with their countries, the stadium is still moving forward.
Rangers have spent years discussing how Ibrox can be improved without losing its character. These works may not create a headline signing, but they are important for the club’s long-term future.
The big question is simple: should Rangers prioritise more stadium investment now, or put every available resource into the team?
