FERGUSON SPEAKS
Lewis Ferguson has reopened the Rangers conversation without promising a move to Ibrox.
The Bologna midfielder was heavily linked with Rangers during the summer transfer window. Ferguson is a boyhood Rangers supporter, and speculation increased after his involvement with Scotland at the World Cup.
However, the transfer never came close to happening.
Ferguson has now addressed the situation and admitted that playing for Rangers remains an ambition.
The 27-year-old explained that he considered his future after the World Cup but eventually decided to continue his career at Bologna.
That decision means Rangers supporters will have to wait if they want to see the Scotland international return to Glasgow.
Ferguson also made it clear that he respects Bologna and remains committed to the Italian club.
Still, his comments are unlikely to end the speculation completely.
A player openly acknowledging that Rangers remain a dream creates an obvious storyline for the future. But there is currently no indication that a transfer is imminent.
Rangers have already strengthened their squad under Derek McInnes, so any future approach for Ferguson would depend on several factors, including timing, finances and the midfielder’s situation at Bologna.
For now, Ferguson remains in Italy.
But one thing has changed: the Rangers door has not been completely closed.
