DORGU INJURED
Manchester United have received another injury concern after Patrick Dorgu was forced to leave Denmark duty.
Dorgu started Denmark’s Nations League meeting with Wales on Sunday but lasted only around 30 minutes before being substituted.
The defender was seen holding the back of his left thigh after the incident before leaving the pitch.
Manchester United have now confirmed that Dorgu will return to the club for further assessment rather than continuing with Denmark.
The timing is frustrating for United.
Dorgu has become an important option under Michael Carrick, particularly because of his ability to operate across the defensive line. His physical style also makes him useful in matches where United need energy and pace.
The latest setback comes during an already difficult international period for the club.
Captain Bruno Fernandes has also been dealing with a physical issue. However, Fernandes has remained with Portugal despite missing their Nations League match against Norway.
United therefore face a nervous wait for further medical updates.
Dorgu’s exact recovery timeline has not been confirmed, so supporters will have to wait for the club’s assessment before knowing whether he will be available when domestic football resumes.
For Carrick, the priority will be getting his players back fit.
After an international break that has already produced several injuries across Europe, United will hope Dorgu’s problem is less serious than it initially appeared.
