KONDE JOINS UNITED
Manchester United have made another aggressive move in the academy market, completing the signing of 16-year-old winger Isaac Konde from Liverpool.
Konde leaves Anfield after developing through Liverpool’s youth system from a young age. He also gained Under-18 experience during the 2025/26 campaign, showing that he was already being trusted above his age group.
United confirmed his arrival on September 28, adding another highly rated teenager to a growing youth recruitment project. The youngster is expected to continue his development with the Under-18s rather than immediately pushing for senior football.
However, the move has another layer because of the club involved. Liverpool and United are historic rivals, and academy transfers between the two sides always attract attention.
Konde can operate on the left wing, but he has also been used in wider attacking roles. His pace and direct style are among the qualities that have attracted interest.
The financial terms are not yet fully settled. Reports say Liverpool expect significant compensation, while the clubs continue discussions.
For United, the message is clear. The club is not only chasing expensive senior players. It is also trying to build a stronger pipeline of young talent.
For Liverpool, losing a promising academy player to a direct rival will raise questions. The real verdict, though, will come years later when Konde’s potential becomes reality.
